Wen-Yueh Tao
Wen-Yueh Tao was born in Keelung in 1961. In 1987, he graduated from the Western Art Group of the National Art Academy and in 1994 he received a Master of Spaces Art, National Institute of Decorative Arts, Paris, France (ENSAD) where he stayed for 20 years (1987-2007).
He is currently an assistant professor at the Fine Arts Department of the National Taiwan University of the Arts and an assistant professor at the Department of Art and Design at the National Taipei University of Education. He is currently engaged in painting and specializing in contemporary art criticism and appreciation of art research. He has twenty-two solo exhibitions, more than a hundred exhibitions at home and abroad.
Wen-Yueh Tao starts with abstraction, from the precipitation and echo of memory. The form is a combination of hot and cold abstract expressions, blending with point-and-line features and contemporary symbolic features, creating media without any restrictions, from sketches, oil paintings to composite media have their own unique performance. His works are shown at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, National Art Education Center, Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, National Museum of History, Shanghai Anting Town Museum, Fujian Quanzhou Museum, Guangdong Cuiheng Art Museum, Keelung Cultural Bureau, Pingtung Cultural Bureau and the United States, Canada. It has also been collected in countries such as France, Singapore, and Taiwan.
